Rice Ermes is an Italian variety of rice. It is an integral red rice.
Obtained in Italy from the intersection between the rice Venus (medium grain and black pericarp) and a rice of the type indicates (long grain and narrow grain and white pericarp).
The Ermes rice has a grain stretched from the delicate aroma and red (red-bushy to harvest, red-brick after ripening), conferred by the presence of anthocyanins on the outside of the rough grain. It is cultivated mainly in the provinces of Vercelli and Pavia .
Solid Ermes rice, suitable for cold or hot salads and also to accompany other dishes.
